Fulham: from Villareal to Sky Bet Championship – representatives offer player

After a couple of seasons treading water in the lower reaches of the Sky Bet Championship, Fulham are beginning to put together good displays that has seen them rise to eighth in the table and only two points out of the play-off places.

This rise up the table is due to good form that has seen the Cottagers win three of their last six games, including their last two against Huddersfield (5-0) and away at Brentford (2-0). Outstanding for the Londoners have been new arrivals Chris Martin and Sone Aluko who have seven goals between them, with the impressive Tom Cairney also grabbing four goals.

Now, according to publication El Balon in Spain, Fulham could very well be receiving a shot-in-the-arm boost via Spanish side Villareal ‘offering’ them midfielder Alfred N’Diaye. Villareal only signed the French-Senegalese midfield player this summer in a deal reported to be around €7.5m.

El Balon state that N’Diaye is down the pecking order at the La Liga club and they fully realise that they will not be able to recoup the outlay that they paid, such is his falling stock with him not being able to force his way into the team. El Balon say that the player himself confirmed the fact “[that] his presence on the bench is not the best possible shop window for him to leave in January.”

With this, his representatives are said to be “combing the English market” in order to find a destination for the powerful former Sunderland player. El Balon go on to say that “in some cases, as with Fulham FC,” teams have been contacted and delivered video of him playing in the colours of former team real Betis rather than current team Villareal. El Balon sya that the reasoning behind this is that his performances with Villareal have “been so small that they do not exist.”
