Sullay Kaikai determined to be better in Brentford loan

Brentford’s Sullay Kaikai has told London News Online that is determined to play better and make his loan at the club a success.

After being a success at Shrewsbury Town last year, scoring the goals which helped the Shrews avoid relegation from Sky Bet League One, Kaikai jumped up a league after signing for Brentford on loan from Crystal Palace. It was expected that he would jump up to the Sky Bet Championship with ease and score plenty of goals which would help Brentford challenge for a play-off spot.

However things are yet to work out that way as Kaikai is yet to make a real impact on the side. While the 21-year-old forward has been a regular for the Bees, most of the time he has got on the pitch he has been a substitute and unable to make a real impact on those matches. But Kaikai has now come out and said that he is determined to make this loan a success for himself and the team.

He said: “The loan is going alright,”

“It’s been a bit stop-start but it is a different level. I’ve got to adjust to the demands of that and I’m learning. I feel like I’m progressing. I’m feeling in good shape.

“You always want to test yourself, to be the best you can be. Going to the Championship was the next stage of my career. I need to prove I’m better than that in order to progress to the Premier League.

“Physically there are a lot of players who are a lot stronger and quicker than in League One. There are a lot of teams who like to play out. You need to be able to make decisions quicker.

“The manager here knows it is going to take time for any player to adjust to the demands of the Championship. He’s been very good with me. He’s a lively character around the ground. Everyone gets along with him. He’s got the same ambitions as the players.”
