Former manager says Leeds are better off without Cellino

In a recent publication of the FourFourTwo magazine, Neil Redfearn says that Leeds United owner Massimo Cellino is holding the club back and is preventing them from returning to their former glories. Redfearn served as manager and academy director during his time at Elland Road before leaving altogether over a year ago.

Since then, Redfearn has held a managerial role at Rotherham United, before being sacked in February. He has been speaking about his time at Leeds in a magazine column earlier this week, and it is fair to say his thoughts on Cellino are unsurprising.

Redfearn felt he was harshly relieved of his duties as first-team manager by Cellino, feeling he was more than capable of making them ‘great again’, but he didn’t hide from the fact that he feels Leeds would be a better club without Cellino at the helm,

“Leeds is my club and I honestly believe I could have made them great again.

“If someone gets hold of them then ‘wow’, they could be big. But that person is not Massimo Cellino, I’m afraid.”

FourFourTwo describes Cellino as ‘the most bonkers boss in football’. Whilst Redfearn would probably agree with that quote, there are many Leeds United supporters that would tend to agree as well!
