No excuses for Nottingham Forest following Bristol City loss

Nottingham Forest’s Chris Cohen has told the club website that they have no excuses for their 2-1 loss to Bristol City.

Forest went into this game hoping to get their first away win of the season and it looked like that might actually happen when they took the lead in the first half through Apostolos Vellios’ strike which hit the post before going in.

However much like what happened at Sheffield Wednesday, Forest soon lost the lead and then the game. On the 65 minute mark, Tammy Abraham continued his purple patch of form by making the most of a poor back pass and then just three minutes later the Robins got the goal that would win them the game when Jamie Paterson was able to tap in.

And Cohen was understandably angry after letting go of another good opportunity to win a game and said that the team had no excuses for losing this game.

In the post match press conference he said: “It was a typical Championship game. We took our chance in the first half and were reasonably happy at half-time but then we were weak in the second half. We lost all of our individual battles, myself included.”

“We have to stop this from happening. That’s three or four times now that we’ve gone ahead in games and we’ve taken only one point away in total. We’ve got to be braver with and without the ball when we’re winning the game.”
“It’s just so disappointing for the supporters. We’ve had another fantastic following come down even though our league position isn’t great but we didn’t deserve to take anything game. We weren’t good enough.”
