Leeds United: team news and fan reaction to line-up

Leeds United’s game against Ipswich Town at Elland Road pits 15th placed Leeds against their 11th placed visitors from Suffolk, a team that did the double over the Whites last season.

Visitors Ipswich have lost only once in their last six matches, a return that has brought them 10 points from a possible 18 on offer. Home side Leeds have the same points return from their last six games, but with three wins and a draw, the Whites on a two-game Sky Bet Championship winning streak.

Today, a victory for Leeds United would put the Whites on 13 points, a total currently taken by Fulham in 9th place in the table. As well as giving the Whites a third league win in a row, it would also represent the first time in a long while that United had won four games in succession, if the midweek EFL Cup Fourth Round victory over Blackburn is taken into account.

Leeds United – team news

Leeds boss Garry Monk makes seven changes to the side that won 1-0 in midweek over Blackburn Rovers with players like Hadi Sacko returning to the fold as well as a recall for the likes of Kalvin Phillips and Chris Wood to the starting line-up.

Leeds fans react on Twitter to today’s line-up

This Leeds fan questioned the decision not to start Bridcutt, but recognised his sides improvement being able to find cover in that position.

Meanwhile, this Leeds fan wasn’t so thrilled with the inclusion of Kalvin Phillips to the starting XI

This Leeds fan thinks that Jansson is a beast at the back, and he was undoubtedly the man of the match against Cardiff last week.

On reflection, this Leeds fan is looking at goalkeeper Silvestri, and questioning why he isn’t included

Meanwhile, this Leeds supporter completely disagreed

One thing for sure is that Leeds will be looking for all 3 points to carry on their momentum. With a less than impressive start to their season hopefully (for the fans sake) well behind them, a win today may kickstart a real challenge for play off places, where a club as big as Leeds should be aiming for.
