Armand Traore happy with point against Rotherham United

Nottingham Forest’s Armand Traore has said to the club website that he was happy with getting a point against Rotherham United.

Forest were hoping to travel up to South Yorkshire and claim a win against a team that has stuttered so far this season but they were only able to get a point out of it. It was the Millers who scored the first goal as well as after an impressive counter attack, Jon Taylor, who said before the game the team must learn how to defend a lead, was able to finish it off with aplomb.

However with 15 minutes to go, Forest finally sparked into life and got an equaliser. Henri Lansbury sent in a corner and Matt Mills was there to head in. The East Midlands side then pushed to get a winner and that was helped when Darnell Fisher was sent off for a second bookable offence. And they soon took advantage of that when Apostolos Vellios scored a stunning scissor volley which was thought to be a winner.

But that wouldn’t be the case as Taylor got his second after taking on two players before scoring another great goal in this game full of them.

And while it was disappointing to concede late on, Traore was happy to get a point, saying: “I think it’s a good point. It’s always disappointing to concede a late goal so soon after taking the lead and I think we could have come away with the win but it’s a tough place to come so we’ll take the draw.”

“It was a very difficult game but we even had chances to win it after they made it 2-2 including when Nicklas headed against the post. But that’s the way it goes sometimes in football, it doesn’t always go the way you want.”
