Leeds United: club announce new commercial deal

As an aside from the usual drudgery of Deadline Day players signings, Leeds United have announced a hook-up with Utilita as per an announcement of the club website.

Not only have the club switched to Utilita, who brand themselves as Britain’s leading Pre-Pay Smart Energy supplier, as the club’s official energy partner, but there are also incentives for any Leeds fan switching using the ‘LEEDS’ promo.

For every fan that does switch their energy provision allegiance, Utilita will donate £25 to the club itself. This £25 donation will be split in two ways within the club: £20 will be given to the Leeds United Academy and the remaining £5 to the Leeds United Foundation to develop coaching in the wider community.

Leeds’ Executive Director Paul Bell said the club were more than happy to join up with Utilita on this joint-venture saying: “We look forward to building a strong relationship between our two brands both on and off the field as we seek to return to the Premier League. Our commercial partners are extremely important to the Club and we would like to thank Utilita for their support.”

For their part, Utilita are also excited to be onboard and linked up with Leeds United with representative Jem Maidment responding accordingly to the announced link. Quoted in the announcement, Maidment said: “These are really exciting times for both Leeds United and Utilita Energy – we are honoured to become an official partner of this magnificent club. We don’t want this to be ‘just another’ partnership. We want it to be meaningful and to have a positive effect for Leeds United fans and the Club.”
