Hull City set to sign former Norwich City striker on loan

Hull are set to sign former Norwich City striker Dieumerci Mbokani on loan, according to journalist Alan Nixon on Twitter.

Mbokani is a Dynamo Kyiv player but was loaned out to Championship side Norwich City last season as they were relegated from the Premier League.  The striker managed to score seven goals in 29 league appearances for the club but could not prevent relegation.

Mbokani has a good goal-scoring record with Dynamo Kyiv, but the club look set to loan him out to the Premier League once again this season.

Norwich manager Alex Neil was rumoured to be looking to sign another striker today, and Mbokani was mentioned as a possible target after doing well for the club last season.  However it now looks as though no bid will come from Norwich.

Hull City are a club with several long-term injuries but have finally started to bolster their squad this week after a surprisingly solid start to the Premier League season.  Hull have completed the signings of goalkeeper David Marshall, striker Will Keane and midfielder Ryan Mason so far and look set to make more signings.

Mbokani could be the next player to join Hull, after the club made a season-long loan offer for the striker today. He is a low-risk option having already played in the division and could definitely add to the squad.

It is understood that Hull are trying to obtain a work permit for Mbokani and then the deal can go through.
