Nottingham Forest owner confirms double signing

Nottingham Forest owner Fawaz Al-Hasawi has confirmed that the club sealed a double transfer swoop last night. He announced that Middlesbrough winger Mustapha Carayol has signed permanently and that Napoli striker Nicolao Dumitru has penned a loan move to the club.

Carayol, who spent time on loan at Huddersfield Town and Leeds United last season has signed on for the next two years at the City Ground. During his time at the Riverside Stadium he netted twelve goals over four years as he frequently spent time away on loan in the last few years.

Most Forest and English football fans in general will perhaps not be too aware of what Dumitru can bring to the plate. He is 24 years of age and was born in Sweden, but has caps for the Italian Under-19 and Under-20 sides. He too has had several loan moves away from Napoli in recent times, all of them to lower league Italian clubs.

27-year-old Carayol is known as a skilful and tricky winger. He ventured around the lower leagues until Middlesbrough came calling in 2012 after impressing during his time at Bristol Rovers. With Oliver Burke surprisingly leaving to join Red Bull Leipzig, he has helped to fill that void. Philippe Montanier had been hoping to sign a striker and the Napoli forward looks set to fill that hole up to a degree. It remains to be seen if the club are hopeful of further adding to their squad on Deadline Day. They are yet to formally confirm the signings of Carayol and Dumitru.
