Everton close to deal for Sheffield United youngster

Everton are set to seal a deal for Sheffield United youngster Dominic Calvert-Lewin, according to Sky Sports Sources.

The 19-year old has today been called up to the England Under-20 side for the first time but before he focuses on his international duties, reports are claiming that Everton are set to tie up a deal to bring him to Goodison Park.

He featured 35 times for Sheffield United last season, bagging eight goals along the way and this year he has managed to feature once already in the cup. His showing for the Blades have clearly impressed Everton boss Ronald Koeman, who is now eager to sign the talented young player.

They aren’t the only team to have registered an interest in the midfielder though, with Man United also believed to be considering a move for him. The Red Devils were keen to bring in some fresh young talent and had identified Calvert-Lewin as a potential signing.

But, it appears Everton have beaten them to the punch, with a deal already in place now to bring the 19-year old to Goodison Park. United have yet to make an official approach.

A deal is believed to be worth around £1.5m and he is on his way to the Toffee’s training ground to undergo a medical ahead of a move.
