Clubs across Europe interested in Newcastle United midfielder

Clubs from all across Europe are chasing Newcastle United’s Cheick Tiote according to a report from the Daily Mail.

While there is some interest close to home with Burnley looking into signing Tiote, there is plenty of speculation linking Tiote with a move away from these shores. Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala, most notable for their brief time as one of the richest clubs in the world when they were able to sign the likes of Samuel Eto’o and Roberto Carlos, are planning to make a £1.8m bid for him. There are also reports that are linking Greek club Olympiakos with a move for the Ivory Coast international.

Tiote looked like he was going to complete a move to Turkey earlier in the summer when Galatasaray were interested in signing him, but that deal fell through. He had traveled all the way to Istanbul and was very close to finishing off the deal, but Galatasaray said that he failed a medical with the team so the transfer had to be called off.

But with so many teams from across Europe said to be interested in signing Tiote as well as the fact he is yet to play for the Magpies this season, he looks destined to leave the club before the end of the day. Another player who will be hoping to leave alongside him will be Moussa Sissoko. There had been a bid from Tottenham Hotspur for the Frenchman but the club are holding firm on their £35m valuation so the deal is currently influx while a fee is thrashed out.
