Trio go into battle for Bristol City striker

Premier League pair Hull City and West Bromwich Albion have joined SkyBet Championship club Derby County in the chase of Bristol City striker Jonathan Kodjia according to the Bristol Post.

The 26 year old French born Ivorian international striker has recently been subject to a reported £14 million transfer bid from Derby County but that possible move could now take a further twist with both Hull City and West Bromwich Albion able to offer the player the opportunity of top flight football.

The striker looks certain to depart Ashton Gate this week after Kodjia was left out of The Robins squad for their SkyBet Championship fixture against Aston Villa on Saturday and a bidding war is now brewing for the player’s services.

Bristol City stand to make a profit of at least £12 million on a player which they bought for just £2 million from French club Angers last summer. The striker had a prolific season in front of goal for The Robins in his first campaign with the club with Kodjia netting 20 goals in 48 appearances.

The player’s impressive form for Bristol City saw Kodjia make his international debut for the Ivory Coast in their goalless draw with Hungary in May and the striker has attracted transfer interest throughout the summer.
