Wolves planning move for Atalanta forward

Wolves are planning to make a move for Atalanta’s Mauricio Pinilla according to a report from Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.

The Black County club have been trying to make a number of ambitious this summer following the takeover from Fosun International, though they failed in their most ambitious move to sign Anderson Talisca from Benfica as he elected to join Turkish club Besiktas. But now they have turned their attention to Pinilla after he impressed in Serie A for the last few years.

The 32-year-old forward is a well renowned forward having won the Copa America with his native Chile in 2015. He signed for Atalanta at the start of 2015 on loan from Genoa before making his move permanent in the summer. During his time at the club he has scored 11 goals in 34 appearances but with just one year left on his contract, Pinilla is looking to force a move away from the club.

Previous reports had suggested that Pinilla would be returning to South America to join a club in Argentina or Brazil but now Wolves have joined the race to sign him. They are still looking for a big marquee signing to wow the fans following their takeover and signing the Chile international could be one way to do it.
