It was reported in the Daily Mail three days ago that Fulham were reportedly close to signing DR Congo midfielder Neeskens Kebano. This has been confirmed today by the news released on the London club’s website and Twitter feed (below).
Whilst Fulham are saying that the money changing hands is the ubiquitous ‘undisclosed fee’, the Daily Mail said in their article that the talented midfielder is to sign with a fee of £3.8m changing hands, supplemented by a further £850,000 should the Cottagers gain promotion. Fulham have given some details of the deal, the former Paris Saint-Germain product signing a three-year deal with an option of a further year available to the club.

The Montereau-born 24-year-old, who has 12 DR Congo caps to his name after switching his allegiances from his native France, has been at Genk since transferring there from fellow Belgian side Charleroi only a year ago for the sum of £3.4m, according to website Transfermarkt.
Kebano, who mainly operates as an advanced, attacking-focused midfielder, made 26 appearances for Genk in last season’s Jupiler Pro League, a team he only joined that season for a reported £3.4m fee. He scored four times and providing four assists. In his previous Jupiler league experience with Charleroi, Kebano made 50 appearances, scoring 15 goals and setting up 9 assists.
Fulham defeated Premier League side Middlesbrough in the EFL Cup Second Round two days ago at Craven Cottage but the Londoner’s next league encounter in the Sky Bet Championship is an away trip to Blackburn Rovers tomorrow, a team rooted to the base of the table and leaking goals. This game may come too early to see Kebano selected.
