NEWS: Rams to wait on Forsyth news

Derby County defender Craig Forsyth was forced off during Saturday’s stalemate with Aston Villa after a collision late on in the clash, and will now have to wait to discover news on the defender, according to the Derby Telegraph.

Forsyth has only recently returned from a cruciate knee injury suffered in November last year and showed signs of getting back into his stride after such a long lay off. However, after colliding with an opposition player and clinching the same knee straight after, fans and staff alike feared the worse.

However, as he managed to walk off, before being replaced by Chris Baird, it’s hoped that the injury won’t be serious and the defender will wait for news from a scan.

Rams boss Nigel Pearson stated: “We will get the knee scanned, so I will have a bit more information possibly on Monday,”

“We will see how that goes. Hopefully, he will be OK.

“It is his knee but we don’t know what at the moment.

“I think it is always sensible to err on the side of caution after he has been out for so long with a serious knee injury.

“It is the same knee, which is why we are being protective of him.”
