Fulham looking to reunite Watford defender with Slavisa Jokanovic

Fulham are looking to reunite Watford’s Juan Carlos Paredes with his former head coach Slavisa Jokanovic according to a report from Spanish publication BolaVip.

Jokanovic spent part of the 2014/15 season as the head coach and joined the club just a few months after Paredes signed from Columbian team Barcelona SC. Together they certainly made an impact as they got promoted from the Sky Bet Championship as champions. However Jokanovic soon left the club as he was replaced by Quique Flores, and he would soon return to the Championship to join Fulham.

And Paredes may be about to follow him to West London soon too. He has been told by Watford’s new head coach Walter Mazzari that he is not part of their plans for next season and that he will be sold if possible. And for Jokanovic, this is the perfect opportunity to add to his squad.

While the Cottagers got a clean sheet in their shock victory over Newcastle United on Friday night, Jokanovic is acutely aware of the issues that led to Fulham having the third worst defensive record in the Championship. And so signing Paredes and getting this team closer to the one he got promoted may help Fulham cause a few more surprises this season.
