Brentford have signed Emmanuel Ledesma on a free transfer as confirmed by the club website.
The 28-year-old winger has been training with the Bees since July after he was released by Rotherham United at the end of last season. And head coach Dean Smith obviously liked what he saw from Ledesma as he has now been signed on non-contract terms.
Ledesma is coming off a poor season with Rotherham, though he will hope to improve at Brentford. He signed for the Millers last summer but only ever made three starts for the clubs, falling foul of the change in managers after Steve Evans was sacked. It was no surprise to see him released at the end of the season and now he will get another crack at the Sky bet Championship after signing for Brentford. He could make his début tonight when they face Exeter City in the EFL Cup tonight.
While the move to Rotherham didn’t work out for Ledesma, he was a success previously in England. He broke onto the scene in this country when at Sky Bet League One side Walsall after scoring five goals in 20 appearances. He then earned a move to Middlesbrough and while it ended up with him being frozen out in the first team, he impressed in his first year at the Riverside.
