For the third season in a row, Peterborough United’s first game of the League One season was an away trip to Rochdale.
And for the second time out of those three, The Posh left the North-West with all three points.
They came away 3-2 winners, with debutant Gwion Edwards scoring the winner after Marcus Maddison and Chris Forrester has equalised twice for the Posh.
The Posh players took to Twitter over the weekend to give their thoughts on a victory on the opening day:
Central defender Jack Baldwin spoke of the satisfaction of picking up three points.
Great to get up on a Sunday with 3 points in the bag! Credit to all fans that made the journey up, fantastic support! On to the next! ⚽️👊🏼
