Newcastle United looking to sign Everton’s star youngster

Newcastle United are aiming to complete a loan deal for Everton’s Brendan Galloway according to a report from The Mirror.

The 20-year-old defender is one of the highest rated youngsters in the Everton squad and impressed when he was given a shot in the first team after injuries to Bryan Oviedo and Leighton Baines. However with those two defenders now fully fit, Galloway is unlikely to get much first team action meaning a temporary move away could happen.

And Newcastle are going to be the first in line to try and sign Galloway. They have already enquired about the availability of the defender and are currently waiting on an answer. The worry is that Everton do lack some defensive depth and their head coach Ronald Koeman appears to uncomfortable letting a player that they know can play at this level leave on loan in case they do suffer injuries.

Newcastle have become more keen to sign more players after a disappointing start to the season. On the opening day of the season they lost 1-0 to Fulham and now are looking to bounce back and show they can be promoted from the Sky bet Championship this season. The signing of Galloway would help them to do that.
