Jonathan Hogg signs new contract with Huddersfield Town

Jonathan Hogg has signed a new three-year contract with Huddersfield Town as confirmed by the club website.

The 27-year-old midfielder had already had a clause activated in his contract which would keep him at John Smith’s Stadium until 2017, but there was still a fear that he would either leave this summer for a small fee or for free next summer. However any worry that Hogg will be leaving has now been eased after he penned a new deal which will keep him at the club until 2019.

Hogg has already been at the club for three years after he signed from Watford for an undisclosed fee back in 2013. Since then he has gone on to make 88 appearances for the Terriers and he will hope to make his 100th appearance for the club at some point this season.

Before he moved to West Yorkshire, Hogg was able to get plenty of experience. He started his career at Aston Villa after coming through their academy and even made five appearances for them. After loan spells with Darlington and Portsmouth, he moved to Watford in 2013 and after making 86 appearances there, he completed his move to Huddersfield and has been at the club ever since.
