Gary Rowett linked with Hull City job

Birmingham City manager Gary Rowett has been linked with the vacant Hull City job according to a report from HITC Sport.

The Tigers are currently looking for a replacement for Steve Bruce after he surprisingly resigned at the end of last week. And while there are a number of managers on that shortlist, one of the names that has stood out is Rowett.

Over the last few years, Rowett’s reputation has continued to grow and he is now regarded as one of the best managers in the Football League. At Birmingham City he turned them from a team constantly looking over their shoulder at the relegation zone into a team challenging the play offs. This was despite him only having a small budget compared to the other contenders.

And now, Rowett has been linked with a move to Humberside. Hull have always preferred going for British managers and with the former Burton Albion boss’s reputation growing all the time in England, he could be the perfect man to help the Humberside club stay in the Premier League after they were promoted last season.

Rowett is still only the third favourite to get the job with Roberto Martinez and Steve McClaren also being linked with the job.
