Notts County’s Meadow Lane ground is set to host its second big fixture of the weekend when Notts County Ladies face league leaders Manchester City Women in the FA Women’s Super League 1 this afternoon.
On Saturday afternoon, Notts County men’s team faced local rivals Nottingham Forest at Meadow Lane in a pre-season friendly and 24 hours on Rick Passmoor’s Ladies side are set for a huge challenge as they face a Manchester City Women’s side which is packed full of both national and international talent.
Notts County go into the match in sixth position in the FA Women’s Super League 1 table with eight points on the board from their first eight matches. Last time out, The Magpies secured a credible goalless draw against fifth placed Liverpool Ladies at The Select Security Stadium in Widnes.
League leaders Manchester City arrive at Meadow Lane one point clear of second placed Chelsea Ladies while Nick Cushing’s side boast a game in hand over The Blues. City were last in action three weeks ago when they thumped Aston Villa Ladies 8-0 in the Continental Tyres Cup at Sutton Coldfield.
The last time which the two clubs met was in March when Manchester City narrowly defeated Notts County at the Academy Stadium by a single goal and The Magpies will be looking for revenge this afternoon.
