Plymouth Argyle easily beat Southern West Peninsula League side Elburton Villa FC 12-0, with David Goodwillie netting four, in their sixth game of pre-season.
Argyle are yet to play a game at home in their busy pre-season schedule, but have already amassed a super tally of 37 goals, having conceded only three goals.
The fourth tier side started the campaign brightly by beating St Blazey FC 9-0, Tavistock fell victim to a 7-2 defeat before Bovey Tracey lost 6-0.
Derek Adams’ side drew 1-1 at Torquay United, then beat Truro City before comfortably beating Elburton Villa 12-0 this evening.
Things started brightly for Argyle when Spencer opened the scoring after fifteen minutes. Graham Carey doubled the away side’s league before Spencer scored his second and Yann Songo’o scored Argyle’s fourth of the half.
The away side led four-nil at half-time so made only two changes, bringing on a trialist for Nauris Bulvitis, and Connor Smith for David Ijaha, who recently signed from Vanarama National League South side Whitehawk.
Argyle’s 30th goal in pre-season came when Goodwillie scored his second from a free-kick, only for Sonny Bradley to net twice and take the scoreline to 0-7.
A Graham Carey penalty put the visitors eight goals ahead before Goodwillie grabbed his second, and Plymouth’s ninth, of the evening.
Goodwillie sealed his hat-trick, moving the Sky Bet League Two side onto 0-10. Jervis put the scoreline to 0-11 before Goodwillie signed off an emphatic victory with his fourth.
The clear man of the match winner was David Goodwillie. The former Blackburn Rovers front-man was instrumental in the crushing defeat of Elburton, scoring four and being involved in most of the other goals.
Next up for Argyle is a trip to Weymouth and MVV Maastricht, before West Bromwich Albion visit Home Park on 30th July.
