Leeds United: said interested in Ligue 1 striker

According to media site France Football, Leeds United are one of three Championship sides said to have an interest in FC Nantes striker Yacine Bammou.

Alongside Brighton and Wolves, with French side Toulouse also in the mix, Leeds are said to have an appreciation of the Paris-born 24-year-old Moroccan. France Football go on to say that if interested teams were to lodge an offer for Bammou’s services then “FC Nantes would listen.”

Bammou, who moved to FC Nantes at the start of July 2013 from French lower-league side Evry Essone, made the breakthrough to the first-team set up at Nantes a year later at the start of July 2014 after a half-season loan to French side Vendée Luçon Football.

Last season Bammou, who website Transfermarkt value in the £1.3m range, scored four goals in 32 appearances for Ligue 1 Nantes – his first goal of the season coming in a 4-1 reverse at the hands of Ligue 1 superstar club Paris St Germain. Whilst this return might not look impressive in its own right, he only made five starts in his last 20 games for the French side.

Leeds were a team devoid of both shots and goals last season and have looked to bolster this part of their side with the acquisition of 10-goal Swede Marcus Antonsson, 18-goal League Two starlet Kemar Roofe and the loan signing of pacy and exciting Sporting Lisbon youngster Hadi Sacko.
