Wolves to be beaten to signature of Lukaku by Lazio

Wolves are set to be beaten to the signature of Oostende’s Jordan Lukaku by Lazio according to a report from HITC Sport.

With Wolves set to be taken over by Chinese conglomerate Fosun International, they are hoping to make a splash in the transfer market so they can make an immediate push for promotion. Part of that was the attempt to sign Lukaku, the brother of Everton striker Romelu, who had been valued at around €5m and would have been a key addition to their squad to improve the left back position. Oostende were very happy to sell as well as he only had a year left on his contracted and they wanted to make sure they got some sort of fee for him.

But Lukaku will not be moving to the Black County anytime soon as this report suggests he will be heading to the capital of Rome instead. It is likely that playing in the top tier of Italian football tempted the Belgian international to move to Lazio as that will help him keep his place in the Belgian international squad.

Wolves have been waiting for this takeover to start their business this season after only bringing in Andy Lonergan so far.
