Wolves takeover is now imminent

Wolverhampton Wanderers have today become the second Championship club to be bought by Chinese Owners, after BBC Sport confirmed that the takeover of the club had been completed.

Chinese group Fosun International has reportedly bought the club for £45million.

The club had been up for sale since 2015, when owner Steve Morgan put the club up for sale and quit his role as Chairman.

The president of Fosun International has indicated his intentions for the World Cup to be in his native China in 20 years, and has began to invest into European football in order to make this possible.

He currently has stakes at European giants Atletico Madrid and AC Milan.

The news of the takeover brings Kenny Jackett’s future into question.

The Express and Star today reported that Jackett had not yet been sacked, but was expected to lose his job in the coming days.

However, the man who was heavily tipped to be Jackett’s replacement has today taken a new challenge under his wing.

The Birmingham Mail confirmed that Julen Lopetegui had replaced Vicente Del Bosque as the new Spain manager.

Excitement is growing amongst Wolves fans following the completion of the takeover, with rumours flying everywhere about what sort of players they may get to see at Molineux next season.

Fosun International has links with agent Jorge Mendes, who boasts an impressive array of clients, including none other than Cristiano Ronaldo.

Obviously, Ronaldo isn’t going to be a Wolves player next season, but Mendes has a high calibre of cliental, and Wolves have been linked with a number of young European talents.

One thing is for certain, Wolves will have plenty of money. If they spend it wisely, they could return to the Premier League in no time. If they begin to literally just throw money at players, we could have another drastically failed ownership on our hands.

After years of disappointment, Wolves fans finally have something to smile about.
