Welsh international having medical at Cardiff City

Fulham’s Jazz Richards is set to leave the club and is currently undergoing a medical at Cardiff City according to a report from HITC Sport.

The 25-year-old defender, who can also play in midfield, only signed for the Cottagers last summer and had initially been a regular under Kit Symons. However he fell foul of the new regime after Slavisa Jokanovic was appointed as their new head coach and he soon became out of favour.

Now this summer he has been allowed to leave and looks set to return to his native Wales after a fee and personal terms was agreed with Cardiff City and the deal should be complete after he passed the medical he is set to undergo today.

The move was made possible by Cardiff’s new head coach Paul Trollope. He has been a big fan of Richards for a while now and when it became clear that he was going to leave Fulham, he jumped at the chance to bring him to Wales’ capital city.

Richards is also coming off the back of being part of the Wales squad for Euro 2016. While he only made one appearance there as a substitute in the opening game win over Slovakia, he’ll hope to take that winning feeling with him to Cardiff.
