Nottingham Forest considering move for former Valencia midfielder

Nottingham Forest are considering making a move for free agent Tino Costa according to a report from Italian publication Tutto Mercato.

Under new head coach Philippe Montanier, Forest have been looking to the continent for their new recruits with Greek striker Apostolos Vellios and Finnish international Thomas Lam already joining the club this summer.

And they are looking abroad once again for their next signing and are considering making a move for midfielder Costa who has recently become a free agent. The 31-year-old midfielder was most recently at Spartak Moscow but his three year spell at the club didn’t go well and was shipped out on loan to clubs such as Genoa and Fiorentina before being released this summer.

And while his time at Spartak didn’t go well, he still has a good reputation on the continent having played for big name clubs such as Montpellier and Valencia and now Montanier thinks he could be a great addition to his squad ahead of next season. Forest will be hoping to get over years of frustration and finally make a promotion bid that their owner Fawaz Al Hasawi has been wanting for a number of years. Whether Costa will be a part of that remains to be seen.
