Leeds United look again to Italy for potential signing

Leeds United may be about to return to Italy for their next signing after a report from Tutto Mercato Web said they are considering signing Bari’s Valerio Di Cesare.

While the West Yorkshire club have already signed a new centre back this summer with Kyle Bartley moving on loan for the season, they are still looking to get more recruits to their defence, especially with Giuseppe Bellusci being loaned back to Italy this summer.

And Leeds are set to go back to a familiar hunting ground to get a new centre back, with the club considering making a move for Di Cesare who like so many of their signings since Massimo Cellino took over the club is based in Italy.

The 33-year-old defender has a vast amount of experience to his name having played for the likes of Torino, Brescia and Vicenza before moving onto Bari. H even has some experience of English football having played at the Chelsea academy, though he never made an appearance for the senior team.

Leeds have had mixed success when signing players from Italy with the likes of Marco Silvestri and Mirco Antenucci being able to put in great performances but have often been criticised for their lack of form.
