Aston Villa reject second bid from Celtic for winger

Aston Villa have rejected a second bid from Celtic for ScottSinclair according to a report from The Sun via HITC Sport.

The 27-year-old winger initially signed on loan for Villa back in January 2015 and impressed enough in his 12 appearances to earn a permanent move in the summer. Last season Sinclair only played in 27 games, but he was one of the club’s better performers after he scored six goals though it wasn’t enough to stop them from being relegated to the Championship.

And because of that relegation, many teams are considering making a move to Sinclair as they believe he won’t want to play in the Championship again. And Celtic have already made a move for Sinclair having had a reported bid of £2m rejected last week but now they have returned with an improved offer which has also been rejected because the West Midlands club are unwilling to sell him.

Celtic are keen to sign Sinclair so he can unite with their new head coach Brendan Rodgers. Both of them worked together at Swansea City, the club where they made their names. Both would eventually leave for bigger things, with Rodgers going to Liverpool and Sinclair going to Manchester City, but they could now be set to reunite north of the border if a fee can be agreed.
