After producing an all-black strip in their first season manufacturing Wigan’s kit in 2015, Kappa spring a striking combination of colours for the 2016/17 version. Via Twitter, the first pictures of the new design were displayed.

Modelling Wigan’s newest strip were summer signings Dan Burn (left) and Alex Gilbey (right). Immediately, Latics fans swept across social media praising Kappa’s ingenuity in designing a unique strip that differs from anything produced previously for the club.

A blue-green cerulean front is overlapped by faded horizontal stripes across the lower portion of the shirt, with light grey strips gracing the shoulder and sleeve adorning Kappa’s trademark logo. Emblazoned across the upper of the shirt lies Wigan’s main sponsor Intersport, which lies beneath a white Latics crest on the upper left.

Generally, the kit Wigan will do battle on the road in has been met with positive reviews, with the potential of a third kit being revealed in the coming days similarly exciting fans of the Championship club.
