Millwall reject Championship bid for star striker

The Daily Mail understands Millwall have rejected a bid of £1.2million for striker Lee Gregory from Championship side Rotherham United. Alan Stubbs is keen on signing a striker this summer, but Neil Harris is desperate to keep hold of his prized possession.

Last season was an unforgettable one for the one time electrician Gregory. He fired in a total of 27 goals as Millwall reached the League One Play-Off Final, only to come off second best to Barnsley.

Former Hibs boss Stubbs has recently suggested that he is prepared to break the club record transfer fee to sign a player before the season starts again. Perhaps they may go back to Millwall with a much higher bid.

Gregory has formed a fine partnership alongside Steve Morison in the Lions attack. Harris will be banking on the pair scoring even more goals ahead of another intended promotion push next season.

As for Rotherham, it leaves them and Alan Stubbs in something of a quandary. Do they return to Millwall with an improved fee? Do they focus their efforts elsewhere? It is very much a case of watch this space regarding this one. Millwall will be hoping it is a case of no news meaning good news.
