According to the Bristol Post, former Everton player and Blues fans legend Leon Osman could be set for Ashton Gate, after his recent comments speculating about his next adventure.
Bristol City are one of few clubs interested in Osman after his contract expired at Goodison Park this summer and new boss Ronald Koeman confirmed that he would not be offered a new deal.
The experienced midfielder made 432 appearances for Everton, scoring 57 goals during his time at the Merseyside club.
Osman told the Liverpool Echo that he would not mind dropping down to the Championship, following his deal ending at Everton.
The speculation of the 35-year old’s future has been fuelled by Osman’s recent comments:
“At this point I just want to play football.
“I’m 35 and want to finish my career having played more. If that is in the Premier League then so be it. If not, I’d happily drop down.”
Other clubs in the Championship have also revealed their interest in the England International including Leeds United.
Bristol City still remain interested in Liverpool youngster Sergi Canos, Aston Villa defender Nathan Baker and Sunderland full back Adam Matthews.
