Former manager says Fulham are to have another tough season

Former Fulham head coach Kit Symons has said to BBC Radio London that the club should be prepared for another tough season in the Championship.

Symons had been the manager of Fulham up until November after the Cottagers suffered another disappointing start of the season. After going through many different caretaker managers which included Alan Curbishley, Peter Grant and Stuart Gray, they finally got their new man Slavisa Jokanovic at the start of 2016.

And while Jokanovic has had success in the past with Watford, he struggled with Fulham and they were only able to finish 20th in the Championship. But the club are much more positive going into the coming season despite losing Moussa Dembele on a free to Celtic and there is belief the signings of Floyd Ayite and Michael Madl can help them go for promotion next season.

However Symons believes that Fulham are set for another tough season in the Championship and won’t be making a push for promotion any time soon.

He said: “I’d love the club to do well, but I think it’s a tough time,”

“The Championship is unforgiving and is really tough, and I think with the teams that have come up and down it’s going to be even tougher next season.”
