Ex-Premier League star leaves League 2 club

League Two side Leyton Orient have released a short statement confirming that Kevin Nolan has left the club. The 34-year-old has exited the club ‘to pursue opportunities elsewhere’.

During his time at Brisbane Road, Nolan played a total of 14 matches. He also spent time as player/manager too, overseeing 15 matches at the helm. Of those 15 games, he would win seven of those.

The brief statement reads as follows,

The club wishes to announce that midfielder Kevin Nolan has left with immediate effect to pursue opportunities elsewhere.

We wish him the best of luck and thank him for his efforts during his time with the club.

Nolan commanded fees totalling £7million in his career so far. It all began at Bolton Wanderers where he went on to play over 250 times. He represented the club in the Premier League and UEFA Cup. After just under ten years he made the move to Newcastle United. The Liverpudlian played a major role in helping the Magpies win instant promotion back into the top flight after relegation.  A three-and-a-half year stint at West Ham saw him play a further 130-plus times. He then linked up with Orient in January when he was named player/manager on 21st January.
