Rotherham United preparing bid for Hibernian striker

Rotherham United are preparing a bid for Hibernian’s Jason Cummings according to a report from The Scotsman.

The Millers have been keen to sign a new striker all summer and have already missed out on one Scotland based striker after Anthony Stokes elected to move to Blackburn Rovers. Now though they have set their focus on Cummings and look set to make an official bid for him in the next few days.

There will be the hope that Rotherham’s new manager Alan Stubbs will be able to persuade Cummings to make the switch to South Yorkshire. Stubbs was his manager at Hibs and it is believed both get on well which will could see Cummings decide to move south of the border. However there is anger within the Hibernian fanbase as when Stubbsleft the club to take the reins at Rotherham he promised not to raid his former team, and this potential deal is already breaking that promise.

Hibernian’s new manager Neil Lennon is keen though not to lose his star striker though. The club and Cummings have been in new contract talks for a while and Lennon even flew him out to Paris where he has been working as a pundit to persuade him to stay in Edinburgh.
