In 2013, Norwich City U18s won the FA Youth Cup, beating Chelsea home and away to claim a 4-2 victory on aggregate.
They were known my many Norwich fans as the ‘Class of 2013’, which is an obvious comparison to Manchester United’s class of 92.
But what has happened to the Starting XI who started the second leg at Stamford Bridge?
Goalkeeper – Will Britt: The young goalkeeper was on a youth loan to Norwich City at the time, due to the fact that Norwich’s other keeper Angus Gunn had moved to Manchester City. Britt is a product of Southampton’s famous academy, but is yet to make an appearance for the South coast club. He’s still part of their U21 squad, but you can imagine he’ll be looking to move on soon.
Right Back – Cameron Norman: Cameron Norman had been at Norwich City since the age of 10, but was finally released just a few weeks ago. He’d been out on loan at Woking for the last season in the National League, and it remains to be seen whether he will sign a permanent deal with them. As of now, he is a free agent.
Centre Back – Harry Toffolo: Harry Toffolo played a key part in the youth team’s success in 2013. Despite not making an appearance for the first team, he has featured several times for their U21 squad. He’s also been on loan to three different clubs. He’s played for Swindon and Peterborough in League One, and Rotherham in the Championship. Toffolo is capped at three different ages by England youth. He’s appeared for the U18s, U19s and the U20s a total of 10 times. Following his loan to Peterborough, he has returned to Norwich.
Centre Back – Kyle McFadden: The young Irish centre back was highly rated during his time at the club. He formed a formidable partnership with Toffolo which helped the side win the youth cup. Unfortunately for McFadden he was released in 2015. He trained with League Two side Wycombe Wanderers for a short time, before making his move to the States, where he now plays for Orlando City B. McFadden has been capped an impressive 27 times by the Republic of Ireland at youth level.
Left Back – Ben Wyatt: Young Left Back Ben Wyatt has been at a number of clubs since he left Norwich. He moved to local rivals Ipswich, before featuring for Essex side Maldon & Tiptree in the Ryman Premier Division. At the club, he won three player of the year awards. Earlier this year, he was signed by League Two club Colchester United on a one year deal.
