Bristol City to complete Tomlin signing

Bristol City will complete the signing of AFC Bournemouth midfielder Lee Tomlin, according to the Daily Echo.

The 27 year old is due to undergo a medical this morning ahead of the move.

Tomlin spent the second half of last season on loan at Ashton Gate, after making just 10 appearances for newly promoted Bournemouth after signing from Middlesbrough.

He proved to be a huge success after joining the club in January, scoring six goals in 18 appearances as The Robins avoided relegation.

The fee for Tomlin is believed to be around £3m, which will mean Bournemouth will recoup what they paid for the midfielder just last summer.

Tomlin only made 10 appearances for The Cherries and was investigated internally for a number of tweets sent from his account, just days before he left the club on loan.

The move is likely to be seen as a positive by both sets of supporters, with Tomlin unlikely to get game time at Bournemouth and fans likely to be pleased that they have not lost money on the transfer.

He also made a huge impression in his short time at Bristol City and has a good reputation outside the top flight, after a very successful spell with Peterborough United.
