Midfielder duo swap French football for Port Vale

Bruno Ribeiro has today continued to strengthen his Port Vale side. Midfielders Quentin Pereira and Anthony de Freitas has signed from Stade De Reims and AS Monaco respectively. Both sign two-year deals, with the option of a year extension.

Both players will now link up with the remainder of the squad for pre-season training. Ribeiro was appointed last month after Rob Page decided to take on the managers job at Northampton Town.

Pereira is a 24-year-old who can also play in a more advanced number ten position. His career began at Sochaux in their youth setup. He then jumped into their reserve side before Reims made their move in 2012. Reims, also his hometown club, gave Pereira chances at first-team level as well.

De Freitas is 22 years of age and mainly plays on the right side of midfield. He makes the move from Monaco, where he had regularly played in their reserve side. Last season, he spent time out on loan in Portugal with Varzim Sport Club. This is possibly where Ribeiro first gathered notice of the midfielder in action.

Both now link up with the Valiants and could make their debut next week in the pre-season friendly clash with Newcastle Town. Port Vale will also be facing the likes of Nottingham Forest, Sheffield Wednesday, Wolves and Birmingham City in pre-season.
