Spanish newspaper AS understands that Leeds United are interested in Huesca forward Samu Saiz. Premier League champions Leicester City and La Liga duo Sporting Gijon and Las Palmas are both said to be in the running as well.
Although Saiz only signed for Huesca in March on a permanent basis, he does have a release clause in his contract. He could be signed for 500,000 euros (approx. £418,000).
The 25-year-old has some big clubs on his playing CV. The Madrid-born attacking midfielder has been on the books at both Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid. He has also played for Getafe as well.
He has mainly played his football at reserve level in Spain with various ‘B’ teams. He made his La Liga debut at 21 with Getafe. For those not too aware of him, the video below shows him scoring a fine individual goal against Real Zaragoza.
He remains under contract at Huesca until 2018, but reports in Spain suggest he could be heading to England.
Saiz tends to play in a number ten position, but has also played as a centre forward as well. He certainly fits into the offensive category, and likes to get on the ball between the lines and link up play.
He scored three goals for Huesca last season during his loan spell, which was made permanent. 19 of his 29 appearances in the league came as a substitute. It is a case of watch this space regarding Samu Saiz.
