AWOL Shrewsbury defender wanted by Chesterfield

Chesterfield want to sign Shrewsbury Town’s Nathaniel Knight-Percival according to a report from the Derbyshire Times.

It is well known that their manager Danny Wilson has been looking for a new left sided centre back to add to his squad for a while now and according to this report, he’s found the man who can fill this hole in his line up.

It looks almost certain that Knight-Percival will be leaving Shrewsbury at the end of his contract after he didn’t show up for the start of pre-season training and it seemed like the only club interested for a while were Southend United after their managed Phil Brown expressed a desire to sign him.

But Knight-Percival will also have the option to move upto Derbyshire after reports suggested that Chesterfield think he would be the perfect man to fill the current need in their squad.

Knight-Percival started his career in non-league football with Histon where he became a bit of a legend in his six year spell after making just under 200 appearances for the side. His impressive performances there earned him a move to Wales to join Wrexham and after two years there he made his break through into the Football League with Peterborough United. He then would move to Shrewsbury in 2014.
