Inman, Peterborough sign up relegated top scorer

Peterborough sign up relegated top scorer

Peterborough United have confirmed the signing of Crewe Alexandra forward Brad Inman. Last season, he was the joint top scorer for the Railwaymen as they were relegated into League Two.

Inman joins on a free transfer, signing a three-year contract with the club. He will travel over to Portugal, where he will link up with his new teammates at their training camp.

The Australian international was out of contract at Gresty Road next month. Recently, manager Steve Davis said he was resigning himself to the prospect of losing their talented forward.

The 24-year-old has been on the books at Gresty Road since signing on loan from Newcastle United in November 2012. That was turned permanent at the end of that season. In total, he scored 24 goals for the club, 10 of which came last season. He was called up to the Australia squad for the friendly against England. He also has caps for the Scotland Under-19 and Under-21 teams. He qualified for Scotland through his mother.

He becomes the latest signing made by Grant McCann at London Road. Earlier this week, Crawley Town winger Gwion Edwards joined for a six-figure fee. They had hoped to sign Colchester United attacking midfielder George Moncur. However he elected to join newly-promoted Barnsley. Inman isn’t likely to be the final incoming transfer with the League One club.
