League One side lines up loan deals for Monaco duo

New Port Vale manager Bruno Ribeiro has admitted that he is hoping to sign two players on loan from AS Monaco (Stoke Sentinel). The League One manager revealed that he is chasing down a striker and winger from the Ligue 1 club.

Ribeiro was recently appointed to the role at Vale Park, succeeding Rob Page who took on the job at Northampton Town.

The former Leeds United midfielder was speaking on Radio Stoke, and said that both players are quality. However he conceded it is no guarantee both will sign,

“If these two players come in, their quality is high. They are very good players. One is in the in his national team.

“If they come in I am very happy, but it is not easy.”

The squad return for pre-season training on July 1st and Ribeiro is hoping to have his two new signings on board.

It remains to be seen how these players are. It is likely to be from within the reserve or youth setup.

Port Vale have their first friendly on July 9th when they face Newcastle Town. Vale supporters will be hoping to see many new faces lined up in that match. Optimism ahead of next season is growing following Ribeiro’s appointment. The Portuguese is a close friend of Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho. He previously said he would be hoping to use his contacts to sign new talent.
