Newcastle flop set for Lazio move

Newcastle United’s Florian Thauvin could be about to end his time on Tyneside with a move to Italian club Lazio according to a report from the Newcastle Chronicle.

The 23-year-old winger only signed for the Magpies last summer but failed to acclimatise to the Premier League in the 16 appearances he made for the club. He was then loaned back to his previous club Marseille in the January transfer window and while he has returned to St James Park after the end of his loan, Newcatsle have made it clear that they are willing to sell.

And it appears that a team is willing to buy with Lazio reported to be interested in Thauvin. The Italian club are set to appoint his former manager Marco Bielsa and he believes that having brought the best out of him while at Marseille that he will be able to do the same in Rome.

Thauvin went through a number of youth teams including Ingre and Orleans before signing for Grenobles where he made his professional debut. Then after a short spell with Bastia, he had an ill fated spell with Lillie and was actually loaned back to Bastia. In 2013 he moved to Marseille where he made his name before earning his big move to England by signing for Newcastle.
