Accrington Stanley have signed Bastien Hery from Carlisle United on a free transfer as confirmed by the club website.
The 24-year-old midfielder made 25 appearances for the Cumbrians during his one year stint with the club but was unable to inspire the club into a promotion bid and found himself being released at the end of the season. But he has found another club after signing a twelve month contract with Accrington with the option of another year.
Accrington are hoping that the signing of Hery can help the club go that bit extra further after they missed out on promotion on the final game of the season before losing in the play offs. Despite the fact that just getting to that position was an amazing achievement for Accrington, the end of the season still hurt for the Lancashire club and they will be hoping that Hery can help them get promoted this time.
After Hery signed for the club, Accrington’s assistant manager Jimmy Bell said: “We believe he’ll be a fantastic addition,”
“He’s got experience at this level and he fits into our category of player. He’s hungry and wants to be successful and in that respect he’ll fit right in. We hope he can be successful for the club.”
