Moore swaps Port Vale for Bristol Rovers

Bristol Rovers have signed Byron Moore from Port Vale on a free transfer as confirmed by the club website.

They completed the signing of Peter Hartley from Plymouth Argyle yesterday. The Gas have continued to improve their squad ahead of their League One return. Moore signs a two-year contract with the club.

Moore, who can play on the wing and as a striker, had been at Port Vale for the last two years but rejected a new contract. During his time at the Staffordshire club, Moore made 51 appearances and scored four goals.

Now that he has joined Bristol Rovers, he will be hoping to at least keep them in League One. Momentum is certainly. with the West Country club. Perhaps their aspirations are much higher than merely avoiding relegation.

After signing for the Gas, Moore said,

“I am over the moon to be joining Bristol Rovers, a traditional club with a fantastic following. I’m looking forward to working with manager Darrell [Clarke] and his staff, at a club very much on the up. I would also like to thank the staff and the fans at Port Vale for their support over the last two seasons”.

Bristol Rovers welcome their new player, who enjoyed a lengthy spell at Crewe Alexandra earlier in his career too. With Crewe, he won promotion and also the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.
