Leeds linked with Premier League & Euro 2016 midfielder

Chronicle Live understands that Sunderland midfielder Sebastian Larsson is reportedly being linked with a move to Leeds United. It would appear that the Swedish international is surplus to requirements by manager Sam Allardyce.

The wide man is currently away at Euro 2016 with his national team. The 31-year-old looks set to leave The Stadium of Light this summer, and Leeds could pounce.

New Leeds head coach Garry Monk is hoping to install an attractive and attacking brand of football at Elland Road. Larsson is well known for his quality of delivery and ability to retain possession. He would very much be an asset if snapped up.

Last season, the former Arsenal youngster played 27 times for both club and country. In total, he has played over 150 times for the Black Cats. Prior to this he played a similar amount of matches for Birmingham City. Most of his appearances for Arsenal came in the League Cup, before making his Birmingham loan permanent in 2007.

It was only a year ago that he won the Player of the Year Award with the Mackems, but has struggled for regular game time under Allardyce. Leeds will unlikely be the only club interested. Of course, it remains to be seen how serious this link is. Nevertheless, he would be asset for all Championship teams.
