Bristol City have got more competition for Bradley Dack as Celtic have joined the race to sign him according to a report from the Bristol Post.
Their new manager Brendan Rodgers is keen to add a goalscoring midfielder to his squad and had at first targeted Chidiebere Nwakali from Manchester City but after attempts to sign him had failed they have turned their attention to Bradley Dack.
The 22-year-old midfielder put in a star turn last season and while his Gills ended up just missing out on the play offs, it was of no fault of Dack as he scored 15 times in 44 games.
But with Celtic being the latest team to state their interest in Dack, Gillingham are becoming resigned to the fact they will probably lose their star man. While the Kent based club have reportedly rejected a number of bids already, it is expected that they would accept an offer of £2.5m.
If Celtic are willing to stump up that fee, they will face a battle to sign Dack. Premier League side Crystal Palace are also said to be interested while Bristol City have according to reports already began talks with the attacking midfielder.
Dack came through the Charlton academy before being released and being picked up by Corinthian. He impressed there and was picked up by Gillingham’s academy and has since become a key player after breaking into the first team.
