Bristol Rovers defender being targeted as Baudry replacement for Leyton orient

Bristol Rovers’ Tom Parkes is being targeted by Leyton Orient as a replacement for Mathieu Baudry according to a report from the Bristol Post.

The O’s are planning a rebuild of their squad after a disappointing season where they failed to even make the play offs. During this rebuild they have seen their long term defender Baudry leave the club and join the recently relegated side Doncaster Rovers. This was in addition to releasing Connor Essam.

And as they look for potential replacements, they think they’ve found their man as they are now targeting Rovers defender Parkes. The 24-year-old has been a key part of the team since he was signed back in 2012 and was one of the few players to survive the culling that Darrell Clarke did after they were relegated from the Football League. But that paid off as he helped the Gas get a stunning double promotion.

But even though he has the chance to play in League 1, Parkes may be about to drop back down into the bottom tier of the Football League after Orient registered their interest in the player.

Parkes came through the Leicester City academy and after a number of different loan spells moved to Bristol Rovers, initially on a temporary deal before making it permanent in 2012.
