Championship duo interested in versatile Middlesbrough player

Preston North End and Wolverhampton Wanderers have both made initial enquires to Middlesbrough over signing Adam Reach according to Gazette Live. The 23-year-old spent the entire season on loan at Preston last year but has since returned to the newly promoted Premier League side.

Lilywhites boss Simon Grayson hasn’t hid from the fact he would love to re-sign the player for next season, and Wolves boss Kenny Jackett is also a big admirer of the left-sided player.

Reach, who played wing-back, left midfield and sometimes striker for Preston, appeared 35 times in the Championship for the Deepdale club last season and was frequently one of the first names on Grayson’s team-sheet. Speaking recently, the former Huddersfield Town and Leeds United manager said making a move for Reach once again was always likely,

“He’s a good footballer, he’s got a lot going for him and in the right direction. But that will be dictated a lot by Middlesbrough.

“I think he’s enjoyed it because he’s been playing. We’re a good football club which is well-run, and we have a good set of players. Hopefully he’s enjoyed working with us as a staff too.

“It was a surprise that I could get him in the first place given the number of games he played (last season), but Aitor clearly felt he was better off getting some game-time.”

Reach signed a four-year contract only in November 2014 but now clubs such as Wolves have entered the race as well (Express & Star), it will certainly give Adam Reach a decision to make this summer. Although ultimately, it is down to Aitor Karanka.
